Where the Santa Claws Prize Went

by Michael

Barbara, the winner of the Santa Claws Competition, very generously requested a prize of cat food which she gave away to two local charities.

One is the animal rescue organisation Kays Hill Animal Sanctuary, Stone House Chapel, Bildershaw, West Auckland, Co. Durham DL14 9PL, UNITED KINGDOM. It is run by Kevin and Leanne.

The other is Wear Valley & Darlington Cats Protection. Marion collected the cat food.

I am delighted that the prize has gone to these great animal charities.

Here are a couple pictures that Ruth took of the handover in a poster that she also made…

Well done Babz. You made me happy. And it made some cats happy too at Christmas.

Best

Michael

I loved seeing the pics of the kind people who care for the cats Barbara donated the food for.
What a very satisfactory ending to the Santa Claws Compo this has been.

Feel good factor
by: Admirer of this lady

This has given me such a feel good factor.

Congratulations to Barbara who wrote such an imaginative story and then crowned that by giving away her prize.

This world would be a better place were there more like her in it.

Well done Babz
by: Michele S.

That’s brilliant news. There couldn’t be a more worthy winner than Babz. The shelters must have been over the moon to receive all that extra food, especially in these tough economic times.

What Christmas is all about…………
by: Leah England

Its all about loving and giving and although I’ve never actually met Barbara in person I do know one thing; she is one of the most caring and sharing people I’ve ever come into contact with, both Barbara and Ruth alike.

I know this because I’ve been privy to all the good work they do not just with cats and other animals but with people as well.

So happy Kitmas to all those who will benefit from this amazing gesture of Christmas goodwill!!

Thanks also to Michael who made it happen in the first place.

Just want to say a big Thank You to Barbara for donating this food to us it is very much appreciated and also thank to Ruth too for her support.

We have two pregnant cats come in this week so kitten season is all year round now and the strain is enormous on all cat rescues trying to help them.

THANK YOU !!

Happy!
by: Barbara

Thank you to all the lovely people who have commented and been glad for me to win, I am happy to have been able to help Kays Hill and CP in some small way to feed the many cats in their care. It’s been really enjoyable winning, receiving the delivery, sharing it out and having the pics taken, any publicity from it that helps KH or CP would be an added bonus.

Great photos
by: OJ

Such a heartwarming result of the compo and it’s great to see the photos of the people who look after the cats that will benefit.
I would call this compo a huge success with a very well deserving winner who wrote the best story and is obviously one of the best kind of people too.

Well done, Babz!
by: Maggie

Good on you, Babz! This is the perfect way to spend your prize. Cat shelters always are in need of food, and cats love eating! So it’s a win for both the shelters and the cats! You should be very proud of yourself, take pride in knowing that due to your wonderful story, many cats will have full bellies this Christmas!

Proud of my little sis
by: Ruth

Just to say how very proud I am of my sister, not only for winning the Compo but for deciding to give her prize away in cat food too.
I’m getting quite used to being her papparrazi lol when she does her charity events at work but I’m always scared the photos don’t turn out well, thankfully this time they have !
Leanne was worried she looked a mess but having taken the time to come away from all the chores at Kays Hill I think she looks lovely. She is a good honest hard working lady who I much admire.
I much admire Kevin too and as I’ve said before I don’t know what we’d have done without him and Leanne coming that night to collect those abandoned cats.
Marion CP has rescued cats for the many years we’ve known her and is another lady I admire.
So lots of well fed cats in care at Christmas and we hope to get some local publicity for both Kays Hill and CP to bring in more desperately needed support for them in these very hard times for charities.
Also more visitors for Michael’s wonderful PoC website.
