The answer to the question is fairly obvious in my opinion. Cats are more active at night. Despite the fact that there is less traffic on the roads at night, the chances of being hit by a car are still enhanced particularly in the early hours of the morning when people start to go to work and a cat is coming home from his wanderings. This is the danger time and I’m convinced that most cats are killed on the road in the early hours of the morning say from 4 am onwards.
