Loving a cat is the same as loving a person. All the same reasons exist. The difference is that domestic cats are more reliable than people. Also, people love their domestic cat companions unconditionally. They never play games with their cats because cats don’t play games with them. It is all out in the open. Another possible benefit is that a domestic cat’s lifespan is about 15 years. This pretty well meets the normal lifespan of a human-to-human relationship. In fact in the UK the average marriage lasts under 10 years. People love cats because they want to love and give to a significant other and receive some love in return. They get that handsomely from their domestic cat companion.
