Women take twice as long to seek medical care for themselves than they do for their pets, study reveals
WOMEN take twice as long to seek medical care for themselves as they do for their pets, a study shows…..
The study indicates that women think of others before they think of themselves. I suppose it also indicates that women have a tender caring relationship with their pets. Of course this is not always the case but the study indicates that in general it is.
The study indicated that women take their pet to the veterinarian within seven days of seeing symptoms but they present themselves to their doctor within 15 days, twice as long, when they have symptoms of illness.
Children get the quickest treatment! Mums take their kids to the doctor within five days of seeing symptoms. As for parents it takes eight days and for wives and spouses it takes seven days.
It seems therefore that pets are second in priority in terms of getting medical treatment and equal to spouses.
The study was conducted by the charity Ovarian Cancer Action. The delay in women seeking medical attention in respect of ovarian cancer is probably due to the fact that they are unaware of the serious nature of the symptoms.
