Wow. Watch this French sailor jump off his stricken yacht to a rescue boat with his cat

This looks hairy and scary.

His cat was tucked into his sweater or coat when he jumped from his boat in high seas. You can see him leap and then dive head first onto the deck of the rescue ship. I wonder whether his cat is okay. For the cat, the danger is still very much present even after he has jumped safely onto the ship. Did his cat escape from his coat? Did his cat remain secure or perhaps run away frightened. The footage was taken from a coast guard Hercules aircraft.

It is sadly typical that the cat is an innocent but major player in the news story but we know nothing about him/her or whether he is now safe. The focus is on the human!
