Well, all I can say is that I am incredibly impressed by this young Cambodian man. He is working in the jungle creating a wonderful kitten playground out of natural products: saplings and red mud. He does not use any screws or nails. It is all constructed in the most natural way. I don’t know how permanent it is but I suspect that it is quite permanent. He’s very resourceful and it puts Westerners to shame. We’ve become too soft. We are consumers. We go down to the local pet store to buy something like this but it is nowhere near as good. Ironically, what comes to mind right now is the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. They took control of the country with AK-47s and commitment. The Americans poured US$1 trillion into the country with training and equipment. But it was no competition for the Taliban. The West has grown too soft and flabby. And that applies literally because there’s far too much obesity in the West as well which brings my mind back to cats! Obese Westerners have lost their bearings on what is obese and what is normal which means that they allow their cats to become obese when they think they are normal. Feline obesity is an epidemic. I am meandering and wandering off the topic which is the amazing skill of this young Cambodian man.
