Domestic Cat 7500 BC – 2013 AD?

Millions of people believe that the world is about to end and that is will happen in the Land of Sham, which is Syria and Syria is about where the domestic cat was first created or to put that more accurately Syria is part of the Fertile Crescent where the Near Eastern wildcat was domesticated to become the first domestic cats.

Certainly many Muslims believe that the end game has begun and it will take place in Syria. Preachers are encouraging Muslims to go to Syria for jihad which means a holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty to many Muslims but it actually translates to the word “struggle” meaning day to day struggles. The word “jihad” has been hijacked by Muslim extremists.

Anyway, the religious context of the war in Syria is underrated by the West. Where once there were Syrians who were passionate about achieving democracy in Syria by overthrowing Assad, we now have jihadists intent on making Syria a Muslim state. It has become very messy. Who are the good guys? We know Assad is bad but is the other side good?

The domestic cat was born in Syria and adjoining countries. What if the end of the domestic cat’s days occurs in the same place? If it occurred it would have a neat symmetry.

Personally, I don’t believe that the world is about to end. Many people are doom-mongers. They want the world to end. I see their point though. There is a certain danger of a world war starting if America bombed Syria. It won’t happen for that very reason. The whole idea will fizzle out.

Humans are good survivors. When taken to the brink they pull back and get on with living. The fate of the domestic cat is entirely in the hands of humans.

It is a bit strange. The act of domestication of the wildcat was mutual. Both parties wanted it because both benefited. The act of the end of the world is entirely in the hands of people. The cat is an innocent bystander.

    • I hope the cat survives and the humans die 🙂 That’s my atitude of doom – its doom for only the humans since they invented doom they should die by their own invention.

      • Yes I agree, the human race deserve to die out Marc and the planet to be returned to the animals and then Mother Nature will care for them as she did before we came along and systematically ruined her work.

        • You are not alone in that thought. I’d quite like the world to end as long as it happened quickly 😉 I don’t think it is any good anymore since humans evolved enough to strew it all up.

      • Me too. I got this idea from the television. It was Channel 4 news (a sensible new programme) and was told by the presenter that millions of people believe the world is coming to an end. It is the usual religious fervour and perhaps most of these millions are Muslims or crackpot Bible bashers quoting the end of our days as predicted in the Bible.

However, it is a thought. There are possibilities even by the standards of sensible people. There is a lot of friction and stress in the world on many levels: religious, cultural, economic etc. It would not surprise me if something big happened in the not to distant future. It might be another economic crash which might precipitate a war between East and West.

  1. The world was going to end quite a few times in my lifetime but it hasn’t happened yet.
The first time was when I was young and it was supposed to end at midnight, I sat up waiting but nothing happened so I went to bed lol
The world ends every day for some people, of course it does because when someone dies their world ends.
We will never know the end of the story of the world.
