What you can say about the British Shorthair you can say about the long haired version in terms of character and their history before they became purebred cats.
They are not that well-known which surprises me because they are one of the most attractive cat breeds.
It surprises me too that Gloria Stephens in her book Legacy of the Cat does not mention the breed but focuses on the short haired version. That is indicative of how perhaps the cat fancy relates to this breed.
I would like to see the breed better publicised which is why I have created this page.
