Tony Alsup is an heroic animal rescue volunteer driving his converted school bus around the Carolinas, picking up rescue animals from various organisations to take them out of the path of Hurricane Florence to take them to other rescue centres where they can be adopted.
In the bus there were 53 dogs and 11 cats in their carriers. It seems that Tony Alsup worked around the clock to rescue them and take them off the hands of rescue organisations who at the time were unable to cope. As far as I’m aware, Tony used his own money to carry out this dramatic and effective cat and dog rescue.
