If you read the text of this Harpers Weekly story of a cat show in the UK you will see that this cat was imported from Ethiopia (Abyssinia as it then was). That is where this cat breed is meant to come from and this must be one of the very early importations. It might be a drawing of the famous Zula Zula. I don’t know. The picture is in the public domain due to the passage of time.
