It looks like a dog collar but it probably isn’t. It looks way too big and inappropriate. It looks, too, as if it is not quick release, and neither is it elasticated and therefore flexible. Sorry, am I being too picky? 🙂 It appears to have a luggage identification tag attached to it on which I presume is the new cat’s name: Poseidon. The photograph comes from her Instagram page which has 1.3 million followers. The page is full of photographs of her presenting her beautiful body to the world. The most recent photograph is the one you see on this page.
In my estimation her new cat companion is a grey tabby moggy. By that I mean I do not think that Poseidon is a purebred cat judging purely by appearance. However, appearances can be misleading! Poseidon is beautiful just like his owner.
It’s just that collar which gets me. I don’t know what she was thinking of when she put it on. Clearly she wanted some sort of identification to keep him safe (I have decided that Poseidon is male because the god Poseidon was male). But the whole collar contraption is clunky and too big for a cat. She can do far better than that. Something far more elegant.
Domestic cats put up with wearing a collar but inherently they don’t like it and why should they? They get used to them but why should they if it is this big and uncomfortable?
I don’t know if Poseidon will be an indoor-outdoor but if he is or will be Halle Bailey can get a GPS tracker collar which is smaller than the one he’s wearing. It would completely prevent any possibility of him becoming lost. Provided nobody stole her cat and removed the collar.
News media tell us that Halle chose the name Poseidon because of its connotations with water, in the context of her starring in The Little Mermaid. The name is a homage to her Disney role for which she was chosen after “an extensive search” by director Rob Marshall who previously directed Chicago.
Research tells me that Poseidon was the god of sea, earthquakes, storms and horses. He is considered one of the most bad-tempered, moody and greedy Olympian gods who was vengeful when insulted. He had a violent temper.
I presume that Halle chose the name because Poseidon is the god of the sea. I wonder if she knew he was so foul-tempered! It doesn’t really matter because I’m just having a bit of fun. It’s a good name but it is not a good collar 🙂
Halle Bailey is an American actress and singer born on March 27, 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia USA. Wikipedia features both her and her sister, Chloe, in one article. Chloe it is about one year older than Halle. They are described as an “R&B duo”.
