About 8 years ago, I found a tiny little runt under our car covered in oil. He looked to be about 5 weeks. I felt so bad that I took him and gave him a bath. Turned out he was a white kitten with a gray spot.

I got rid of all of his fleas, got him up to good health, and named him Mr. Chester Bennington. He was an ugly little thing. And annoying. But he would never leave my side. Constantly meowing. I guess I was his new mommy.

Every night, he slept on my chest until he got too big and was starting to suffocate me! He would not go to many other people, just me.

Well, eight years later, he has grown into a huge beautiful boy! He has the most gorgeous golden eyes. And he has a different call. Instead of "meow", he says" Mowowwww....!!" and when he purrs, he sounds like a pigeon.

He drools when he cuddles, and when I'm around, he has to be on my lap or right next to me. Very demanding. I can't even sit in my car without him climbing into my lap. He is very hefty too. He weighs a good 16 lbs.

He could be 5 acres away when I call his name and he will come running, crying all the way back. I've never worried about him running away. He has always been an indoor/outdoor cat and never once stayed away for more than a day.

He is very unique in that way, him being close to the wild, yet so tame to me. He is like my furry giant baby that will never let me be alone.

Mr.Chester Bennington

Hi Amanda. I like great names for cats of humble beginnings. When you call for him, do you call his entire name. If so, doesn't it cause every Linkin Park fan in Cincenatti to come running to see what's going on? 😉

Clearly he has bonded very closely with you and it doesn't matter that much if he shy away from other humans. He will be devoted to you for as long as he lives.

Handsome Chester!
by: Everycat

Chester was a lucky fella to be found by you. What a great name he has. I know that pigeon purr, I call it the singing, ringing purr and I think it's only especially happy and contented cats that can make that sound.

Thank you for sharing his story.

Jane
