We have become familiar with President Trump’s wildly conflicting statements on the Iran war he started illegally.
One minute he is saying that the ‘talks’ are going very well with a peace deal on the near horizon and then soon after he declares that he is going to obliterate Iran!
Up and down. Good news and bad news. Bad news then good news. And always on his Truth Social website. This allows instant communication with the entire world at a stroke.
He can make these posts at anytime and does; even at 2 am at night sometimes. His posts are completely unencumbered by his administration. He is working alone which is astonishing when you think about it.
Normally profoundly important announcements about these sorts of matters are made formally at press conferences etc. After a discussion with the military and administrative team. Not with Trump. He’s probably in bed at the White House with a glass of wine bashing out his all caps posts! 😱

The BBC kindly provides an example: On 23rd March Trump threatened to obliterate Iran’s power plants. His post on Truth Social was “‘VERY GOOD AND PRODUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS’ with Tehran over a ‘COMPLETE AND TOTAL RESOLUTION’ to hostilities.”
Good news for world business but a surprising announcement. Stocks rose and the oil price dropped immediately.
The BBC says that 14 minutes before the social media announcement, there was an unusual amount of bets placed on US oil price. The BBC reports says: “The same pattern was seen in traders buying contracts for Brent crude, the other major oil benchmark. The trades appeared “abnormal, for sure,” one oil analyst told the BBC at the time.”
Some allege that Trump is leaking information to others to allow them to place bets on the futures markets. And he then takes a cut. That, as I understand it, is the alleged MO.
In other words the social media posts are genuine but against all rules the information is being leaked before the announcement.
I would go further in my allegation. Much further.
I’d also allege that it is possible that Trump is making the Truth Social announcements not because they reflect the true state of play on the ground but simply to manipulate the markets! So he can make hundreds of millions of dollars personally out of the presidency.
This would explain why social media post announcements appear to have little connection with reality. Certainly Iran has hardly ever concurred with these wildly fluctuating statements.
And the announcements seem unreal. They are deliberately hyperbolic. Wildly exaggerated. Specifically, I’d allege to jerk the trading markets around to make pots of money.
Further thought (at the extreme): was a consideration for starting the war to do exactly as I have stated! To afford Trump the opportunity to make hundreds of millions of dollars! The purpose of the Iran war is to create a vehicle for Trump to make money (alleged).
