Coco
I have always wanted to have a cat. I visited several animal shelters to find just the right cat. I knew I wanted an adult, calm, pretty, cuddly, cat with a sweet temperament.
The six year old cat I adopted had the deepest chocolate color I had ever seen. Her tail has a white tip on it and her eyes are both yellow and blue whenever she is very relaxed. I am not sure if she is really a York Chocolate cat, but she does have some of the breed characteristics.
Coco has been a very good companion cat.
Although she likes to be near me and will sit in my lap to be brushed and cuddled, she is not extremely clingy and will sit at my feet or near me in a room observing everything or will go into another room and amuse herself.
She is very vocal in the morning, then for the rest of the day she is very quiet as she moves through the house to keep up with whatever I am doing. When I talk to her she responds with either a meow or a chirp.
She also has trained me to know when she wants to be picked up or brushed by the different tones of her meow or chirp. Although she eats dry food, her favorite treat first thing in the morning and late in the evening is a saucer of cream.
I was surprised to find out that she likes to play catch and will fetch her toys whenever she is in a playful mood.
Coco also understands more commands than I thought a cat was capable of. (She responds to the commands: sit, stay, speak, come, stop, get down, yes, and no.) She is both sweet and smart. Attached is a picture of Coco.
