Talking Cat Says No No!

This is a video in which the cat appears to say “No, No!” repeatedly. It is a funny cat video…

However, the cat is simply vocalising a sound when in an anxious and submissive state when expecting to be attacked by the look of the cat’s flattened ears which are in the defensive, protected position. Cats protect their ears which are easily damaged in a fight.

The sounds and/or behavior that domestic cats make under these circumstances varies a lot but sometimes, rarely, the sound, by pure chance, mimics the sound of the word “No”. The sound made by another cat may be similar to another short word. It is just pot luck.

The question I have, which is not funny unfortunately, is why is this cat fearful? Is there someone out of view who is doing something that makes the cat nervous? It looks that way to me.

My thanks to Dee for finding the video. Associated: Cat Sounds.

  1. Hi Im not going to look at that Video as I dont think its Funny at all. Just the look on the Cats Face is enough to warn me that something bad must be happening.

  2. Agreed. Is the way of the internet and so called “funny cat videos”. They are often at the expense of the cat and for the amusement of people. It is often plain ignorance.

  3. Not in the least bit funny, that poor cat is half crazed with fear. So upset to see this that I couldn’t watch it all, who could be so cruel as to let whatever was terrifying him continue to do so and to film it too!
Shocked that anyone calls this a funny video!

  4. Michael, I totally agree. . .this is absolutely hilarious, but. . . . . what is that baby frightened of?? He is obviously very upset about something. . . I am just hoping that it’s nothing serious. . . but it really does sound like he is saying “no, no no”. . .
