Woman Gives Birth to Cat and It Goes Viral!

It is the only kind of baby picture that I like! It just depends how you see it. Some people think it’s creepy and disturbing whereas most people see it as amusing which is how I see it. Although I can see how one’s thoughts can veer into the disturbing and creepy bracket.

More than 60,000 people have shared Lucy Schultz’s Facebook announcement of the birth of her cat. It was posted last Friday apparently. The way I see it, it is a couple who wanted to have some fun and get some Facebook interest and if you take it that way it all works out nicely.

Lucy admits that she is a bit odd and accepts it and is quite happy to be thought of in that light. She asked a friend, Elizabeth Woods-Darby to take the photographs. Nice photographs Elizabeth!

The new arrival weighs 6 pounds and 7 ounces. Schultz said:

“You either love it or hate it, and there’s a lot of discussion going on.”

This is why it has gone viral. Of course Lucy loves cats. She understands that she will be known as the lady that gave birth to a cat. She admits that it is surreal but she’s relaxed about it. She was so excited to share with her friends that she had adopted a cat. It was her dream.

“People might think I am a little odd, but I am, and that’s okay with me!”

Lucy has been inundated with comments. Her favourite type of comment is like the one below:

“[My cat] would definitely like a buddy, and some people have posted photos of their cats who want to date my cat, which is the most hilarious response so far,” Schultz said. “I don’t think he wants to do long distance. We’ll have to keep it to local cats only.”

One day Lucy wants to own and manage a cat sanctuary. She hopes her story will encourage people to adopt cats and I presume that she means rescue cats. Her new cat is from a rescue centre, Soul Dog, in Colorado.

“I think it’s pretty cute,” she said.
