This video almost fooled me into believing it is genuine but no. It ain’t. It is superbly created. In fact it is too well made because human video creators of this sort don’t make videos this slick. The lighting is always impeccable. Every moment of the story has been captured by a video camera (impractical normally). But it hasn’t because it has been created by AI on instructions.
There are a couple of giveaways. At one point a lady is filling in a form and her writing is misaligned with the form. And at 4:48 Milo saunters into view with Paul already there. Milo’s face is distorted. A mis-creation. An aberration it seems to me. AI can do this.
So what is the point of this video? To show anyone who’s interested that AI is all pervasive these days on YouTube and in writing articles but you can see the ‘defects’. The writing is too slick, metallic and de-humanised. You get used to seeing it and spotting it.
AI just does not have the human touch which includes little human errors and flaws. These are precious.
This video is successful; racking up over 100k views. So it is clearly financially viable to pay for the deluxe version of AI to create these videos while receiving sufficient money from advertising to cover the cost and make a profit.
Fake rescue videos have been around for ages. In the past the video makers cruelly set up ugly rescues of dogs or kittens. It was horrible. At least in these AI videos no animal is hurt.
But they are fake and we don’t like fake. We don’t like to be jerked around by fraudsters. At least I don’t. It is exploitative of viewers. We are being deceived and taken for a ride.
Animal exploitation videos on social media platforms are a concern
