In brief, the background to this story is that a man named Sean Stanford expressed a dislike of cats and unfortunately his business had a regular cat visitor whose name is Vespa. The business is Solid Technology in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. It is a vehicle body repair shop at which Sean was the owner/manager, as I understand it, and he allegedly shot Vespa twice in the face with a rifle (click this to read the earlier post – opens new tab).
The co-worker who you see in the video below had heard that Stanford wanted to kill the cat. He did not think that he’d carry out his wish.
The co-worker, whose name is Aiden I believe, found the cat after he’d been shot and took him to a a local veterinarian. Aiden likes cats and has two cats of his own but can’t adopt Vespa because Vespa does not like other cats. Vespa has been well treated by a great vet who was shocked and tearful.
The video updates us from that point. It is a good update because Vespa has recovered and he is ready to be adopted. He is a special cat so I guess he demands a special home full of love and warmth.
The thing is though, Vespa was loved at the auto body shop by the staff but for the boss, Stanford, who it appears to have hated him so much he tried to kill him.
It was a very malicious and stupid act because he has been charged and I expect him to be convicted of an animal cruelty crime.
For me, the business should be closed because I believe that Stanford owns it. I’d like his punishment to include that financial loss as well. But I suspect that it won’t be. I also feel sorry for the employees who work there as they have had to put up with this and they may lose their jobs.
