The epidemic we have with cats domesticated and feral, comes from having no laws that hold irresponsible cat owners responsible and accountable for their cats.
I believe in the welfare of the cats, humans, wildlife, environment as a whole. I don’t believe in the TNR program because TNR only focuses on the cats. When we as a people only focus on one specific thing it causes us to not see the whole picture, it unbalances us.
We need a balance so that everyone involved benefits in a positive way. The balance in my own personal opinion is all organizations: ASPCA, Humane society, TNR, vet offices, Animal Control and others that work with cats we put our differences aside and do what is in the best interest for the cats, wildlife and humans and our environment.
Look at what we can do as one to create and promote and enforce cat laws. Many people will be for it and many against it, What I have to say about that is we can’t please everyone, we must base our decisions on what we know is right, we must not base our decisions on how we feel, feelings are a emotion that can cause you to use bad judgments therefore hindering one to do what is right. I see people say a lot when you ask them to keep their cats indoors or speak about laws for cats they call you a cat hater. I simply know this person lacks logic skills, sometimes we have to make decisions that are right for all, some people are incapable of doing right in certain areas in there lives.
Is it not common sense to keep your animals supervised and safe? Allowing cats to roam unsupervised places them in harms way to be killed. We must promote keeping cats safe inside. It is a big step and a right one. If we had cat laws we would not have the feral, domesticated, stray cat epidemic we have now.
We can’t ignore this problem, TNR is only a band aid, it does not fix the root of the problem. Laws will fix the root of the problem. No consequences = anarchy.
