The presence of the girlfriend’s cat may have provoked this man’s violence against her. Perhaps he attacked the cat out of jealousy and the woman intervened whereupon she was murdered brutally. The police don’t know yet but the cat was stabbed (we are not sure if the cat died). This sort of link between violence against animals and then a person is not that uncommon. Sometimes men can become incensed by a woman’s love for her cat. I am not saying that happened her. I am just thinking aloud.
