INFOGRAPHIC explains trans-generational effects of prenatal stress in cats and other mammals

Trans-generational’ means: through the generations i.e. something that is passed down or extends across multiple generations. In various contexts, it describes processes, effects, behaviors, or patterns that are inherited or transmitted from one generation to the next. ‘Prenatal’ means: relating to the medical and other care given to pregnant females before their offspring are born.

I have converted this interesting research (cited below) into an infographic for easy reading. Studies are hard to read. This infographic can be digested in around 2 minutes. The transgenerational effects of prenatal stress in cats is important for everyone in the cat world. We all need to be aware of it particularly those who allow their cats to breed (which sadly is normally irresponsible cat caregiving nowadays) including of course professional cat and dog breeders.

The information is important for people as well. There is a bit of a crisis I would say in the UK with far too many children who are depressed and anxious leading to self-harming and suicidal thoughts. Sometimes it is caused by being unhappy with their lifestyles and local and world events while some may be due to the effects mentioned in the infographic. More research is required.
