I have labelled this infographic ‘ringworm notes’ as it is a very compact note form image containing essential information about ringworm in cats which can and does infect humans, specifically the cat’s caregiver. I can remember a story in the news media (see link below) when a shelter director euthanised 14 cats to deal with an epidemic of ringworm. She was sacked but it does tell us how contagious this fungal parasite is and how difficult it can be to eradicate in certain environments. She panicked.

TIP: Tamara commenting below states that three vinegar baths/scrubs kills the ringworm on cat and person! Scroll down for the comment.
Dr Bruce Fogle in his book Complete Cat Care writes, “It can be particularly difficult to wholly eliminate ringworm from a household with numerous longhaired cats.”
I have to confess that one of my cats from many years ago gave me ringworm. I still have it. The infection lies dormant and reemerges from time to time once every 6 months at which time I zap it as per the infographic tip with UVB light and bye, bye, it disappears until 6 months later.
There are some pretty gruesome photos of cats being treated for ringworm. Here is one below. He was given a lime sulphur dip. Horrible but effective. You can see though that you have to be very thorough and a bit tough on the cats to get rid of this resilient fungal parasite. It is a good survivor.
Below are some more articles on ringworm. The add to the infographic to provide a complete picture on this infection.
That’s what I said to use to kill ringworms ACV. 🙂 Burns a bit but it kills the worms.
Well, thanks for that tip, Tamara. Useful. Vinegar has a lot of uses in cat caregiving. What about apple cider vinegar too! A cure all for many ailments.
Someone threw a kitten my yard. I picked it and snuggled it to my face. Poor thing had ring worm. I got a $200 doctor bill to get expensive medicine for me and the cat. Well that medicine was awful and didn’t work worth a damn! THREE Apple cider vinegar baths worked on the cat and killed the worm on my face. Wet cat head to toe rubbing the vinegar in with a sponge or wash cloth and pat dry then blow dry. Give one bath a week till the worm is gone, usually 2 or 3 does it. At about $1 a bottle anyone can afford it. IT WORKS!
