This is the happy ending story of a kitten who took a ride (two, in fact) in the engine compartment of a car and in the process found a forever home.

Kelly Hawthorne lives in Shawnee, Kansas. She recently took a trip where she drove 80 miles from Missouri back to Shawnee. She wasn’t alone in her journey: a six-week-old kitten was under the hood of her car in the engine compartment. Kelly opened her hood and let the little guy out and he ran away.

The next day Kelly found the kitten under the hood of her car again as she heard meowing as she was driving. She believes herself to be a cat whisperer and that the cat was telling her she had been chosen to be his new human servant. Kelly describes her decision to adopt the kitten
“Well, I wasn’t planning on getting another cat, but the story surrounding this little kitten is too amazing for me to surrender it, I have to keep it.”
The kitten was checked over by a veterinarian and is doing well. He’s the newest member of the Hawthorne family, who have already fallen in love with him.

This little guy is fortunate to be alive. Always remember to either beat on the hood of your vehicle or to physically raise the hood and check the engine area before starting your car. Especially once cold weather arrives and cats venture to any warm place they can find.

From what I understand they adopted him.
so glad that kitty is SAFE, & now has a new home…i think. did they say they were just gonna “adopt” or “foster” that kitty? i hope its adopt cuz im sure the PTB(Powers That Be)sent that kitty to those people. happy endings abound!!
Precious baby! Thanks to the folks who are keeping him.
Sweet story. The little guy was lucky (or was it deliberate?!) that he hitched a ride in a car owned by a cat lover. Thanks Elisa.
We have a car fan blade cat named Sealy. Just Google Sealy from the search engine on PoC. He lost an ear and is a bit strange but he’s the sweetest kitty ever. I just saw one of the cats at work in the cab of a bulldozer so I understand their fascination of hiding spots.
That’s how we ended up with Cleopatra. She took a ride in the engine compartment of a bucket truck. I am blessed to have her. She is super and loving and complements our family.
