22 ‘smiling cat with heart-eyes emojis’ (plus new emojis for 2023)

Here are 22 different smiling cat with heart-eyes emojis. The heart-eyes emoji expresses extreme love of something said or seen. I guess it is the emoji of choice for a cat lover who wants to say they really like something that they have seen on the internet or in a communication. They are in the public domain and can be downloaded to your desktop or to your clipboard when using a smartphone. Right click and select ‘save image as’ for desktop and press your finger against the emoji and ‘copy’ when using a smartphone. You can then paste it in the message.

By the way as these are embedded images, I can’t guarantee that they’ll stick around for ever. They might disappear and if they have, I apologise. I guess stuff on the internet has a short shelf life. Everything is speeded up on the internet.

THERE IS A BRIEF DISCUSSION ABOUT NEW EMOJIS AS AT THE DATE OF THIS POST BELOW THE SLIDES.

Below are some pages on the ‘internet’.

A shaking face, Afro comb, jellyfish and donkey are four of the new emojis released under Emoji 15.0 which are due to be confirmed in September and which are set to appear on smartphones next year, 2023. There is a pink heart emoji which is one of three new coloured emojis. The other two are gray and light blue equivalents.

The shaking face is planned to be used to express shock or to represent excessive movement such as earth tremors according to The Times journalist James Callery.

The emojis above come from the Emojipedia website. It is part of the Unicode Consortium. This is the central bank of all approved emojis. Tomorrow is World Emoji Day.

As you can see, companies such as Apple, Google and Microsoft provide their own customised and stylised versions of the consortium’s design for their operating systems.

In all, the new list contains 31 new designs which is far smaller than normal. The emoji 14.0 released last year had a 112.

This is a strange world. Even the words are strange. A parallel universe inhabited by people no older than 20 on planet Zog. Perhaps 25. Everyone on the planet never grows old. They spend their time creating Twitter ascii images and memes and take great delight in the task. It is the world of ascii images, emojis and memes (if you are uncertain what these words mean please go to the base of the page).

Ascii cat meme. Is this a meme? God knows.

In case you are over 25-years-of-age I am referring to images of cats created using keyboard symbols and letters (and also rarely used symbols). It looks fiddly. You’ll need to practice 🙂 . When sending a message they add a little bit if impact or interest which helps to get the message across.

Emojis are added in to spice them up as you can see. There is a well known ‘sign bunny meme’. It is an ascii-drawn bunny holding a sign. I thought the bunny was a cat! It is a bona fide internet meme used to draw attention to something that is being said.

Bunny acii meme. It could be a cat as far as I am concerned.

I am not going to tell you how to do them because I don’t know fully. Some of the symbols are obvious. I think a work around would be to cut and paste the image rather than create it each time it is used. For that reason I have published some images that can be cut from this page (I hope).

There are millions of young people on the internet who are very creative and funny. They inhabit this alternative world and it is interesting. I don’t have anything else to say because I am an alien to planet Zog. They would not let me in at immigration. As I said it is only for the under 25s and I am ancient.

For those who are unsure of some of the words used:

  • Ascii – pronounced ‘ASS-kee’. Stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange.
  • Meme – an idea, behavior, or style that spreads by means of imitation from person to person within a culture and often carries symbolic meaning…
  • Emoji – ideograms and smileys used in electronic messages and web pages.
