Please share this on all of your crossposting sites as well as with friends in the North Carolina area. I hadn’t planned on writing up any shelter cats tonight, but the former owner has to be the most useless piece of garbage on the planet to give up such a beautiful cat.

I find it very sad and beyond belief that Pookie meant so little to his owners as to be handed over without giving a shit as to how utterly abandoned he’d feel. Senior cats do NOT do well in a shelter.
Pookie may not have a lot of time left on this earth. He sure deserves better than he got with his demon seed previous owner who obviously tired of him and handed him over to a kill shelter. I hope to have more information on his health in the next day or so. Maybe even a followup article if he is rescued.
If your cat has to be euthanized, grow some “balls” or “boobs” and be there until the end like a good owner. If you’re left with a family members cat, I hope they haunt you for the rest of your days for dumping the cat at the shelter.
There’s no excuse for this. NONE!
Surrendering senior cats to shelters is not uncommon. Here was another example:

Needed to be repeated.
